In 2023, a listed group in Zhejiang, China, with a global market share of more than 35% in the wind power fabric sector, launched a 120,000-ton-per-year wind power material project. The production of carbon-fiber diversion fabrics and glass-fiber woven materials for wind turbine blades required reliable pumps for unloading and transferring resin, adhesive and curing agent.
After strict technical evaluation and supplier selection, the customer selected Bonve lobe pumps for these high-viscosity transfer duties. During a follow-up visit in 2026, the pumps were reported to be operating stably, with no reported failure or leakage.
1. Epoxy Resin Transfer Pump
Epoxy resin is the highest-viscosity medium in this project. At approximately 10,000 cP, it requires a pump capable of stable positive-displacement transfer at relatively low speed. The Bonve lobe pump runs at 180 rpm while delivering 20 m³/h at 3 bar. The low-speed operation helps provide controlled transfer of the viscous resin, while the variable-frequency motor allows the operating speed to be adjusted when required.
For high-viscosity resin, mechanical-seal reliability is also critical because leakage can interrupt production and create maintenance problems. Bonve uses its own-developed mechanical seal structure for this application.
Application Data
- Medium: Epoxy resin
- Viscosity: 10,000 cP
- Temperature: Ambient temperature
- Flow rate: 20 m³/h
- Pressure: 3 bar
- Material: SS304
- Seal: Single mechanical seal
- Seal brand: Bonve
- Motor type: Inverter motor
- Pump speed: 180 rpm

2. Adhesive Transfer Pump
The adhesive has a viscosity of approximately 3,000 cP and is transferred at 20 m³/h and 3 bar. Compared with a conventional gear pump, a Bonve lobe pump provides positive-displacement transfer at relatively low speed and allows flow adjustment through variable-frequency control.
The continuous rotary pumping principle is well suited to viscous adhesive transfer where stable and controllable flow is required. In this project, the pump operates at 240 rpm.
Application Data
- Medium: Adhesive
- Viscosity: 3,000 cP
- Temperature: Ambient temperature
- Flow rate: 20 m³/h
- Pressure: 3 bar
- Material: SS304
- Seal: Single mechanical seal
- Seal brand: Bonve
- Motor type: Inverter motor
- Pump speed: 240 rpm

3. Curing Agent Transfer Pump
The curing agent has a viscosity of approximately 1,000 cP and is also transferred at 20 m³/h and 3 bar. Compared with an air-operated diaphragm pump, a Bonve lobe pump provides continuous positive-displacement flow rather than reciprocating diaphragm action. This can be advantageous where steadier transfer flow and simple speed control are preferred.
The Bonve lobe pump operates at 240 rpm and is equipped with SS304 construction, a single mechanical seal and a variable-frequency motor.
Application Data
- Medium: Curing agent
- Viscosity: 1,000 cP
- Temperature: Ambient temperature
- Flow rate: 20 m³/h
- Pressure: 3 bar
- Material: SS304
- Seal: Single mechanical seal
- Seal brand: Bonve
- Motor type: Inverter motor
- Pump speed: 240 rpm

Why Choose Bonve Lobe Pumps?
- Suitable for medium- and high-viscosity liquids such as epoxy resin, adhesive and curing agent.
- Low-speed positive-displacement pumping for controlled viscous-media transfer.
- Variable-frequency drive for flexible flow adjustment.
- Bonve-developed mechanical seal design for reliable operation and leakage control.
- One lobe-pump platform can be applied to different media and viscosity levels in the same production sector.
- The pumps supplied in 2023 were reported to be operating stably during the 2026 customer follow-up.
This project demonstrates the application of Bonve lobe pumps in wind power fabric production for the transfer of epoxy resin, adhesive and curing agent. With low-speed positive-displacement pumping, variable-frequency control and a Bonve-developed mechanical seal configuration, the pumps provide a practical solution for viscous material transfer in composite-material manufacturing.
If you need a pump for epoxy resin, adhesive, curing agent or other viscous composite materials, Bonve can evaluate the viscosity, flow rate, pressure, temperature and material compatibility to recommend a suitable lobe pump configuration.
